Break repairs
Water main breaks are never harmless. Even if they don’t appear to be devastating, the damage could be or lead to serious harmful consequences. Breaks should be addressed as early as possible. We can move in our equipment and start the repair process very quickly. We have repair parts on hand and all the necessary tools and equipment to have that water back in order as efficiently as possible.
Flushing
Water main flushing is done through the use of fire hydrants. It is crucial in order to keep good chlorine residual at the ends of water mains. It also helps to keep biofilm at bay, and remove sediments. A regular flushing program should be implemented for any municipality or community.
Swabbing
Swabbing water mains is a step up from flushing. It involves launching swabs (large sponges) into isolated portions of water mains, in order to achieve a physical means of removing contaminants, sediments, and biofilm from the interior of the water mains. The results are often impressive and effective. Although being an involved process, we can make a strategic plan to meet your goals.
Isolation/Bibbing
There can be many reasons to isolate a portion of water main. But isolating requires the knowledge of identifying affected neighbourhoods, businesses, industries or crucial water sensitive businesses. Why not incorporate some sort of bibbing along with isolation. Keep water available and flowing with a temporary potable water line during an isolation event. We can arrange the layout, installation and upkeep to water bibs, along with building hookups in the isolated area.
Installation
We install water mains. We can extend an existing water main, add some valves, install fire hydrants, air releases, swab launches, Pressure Reducing Valve’s, etc
Air Releases
The installation of air releases has probably already been engineered into your distribution system. However they probably need to be replaced. They get old and stop working. This makes the air in your system stuck with nowhere to go. Air in the water system has dramatic effects in the dynamics of your system. They should be working, and we can help with that.
